Monica Ciantar, of Tarxien, writes:
So, Stephen Buttigieg have us to understand in Take it to the Hole, of April 16, that the GSSE 2003 gold medal won by the women's national team helped to encourage Farsons to extend the sponsorship deal with the Malta Basketball Association.

Paradoxically enough, the same columnist went on to dedicate 95 per cent of his weekly allotted space to the men's play-offs and the rest to the women's semi-finals. Is that fair?

Moreover, is it fair that the MBA hold a press conference to promote the men's play-offs but offers no such promotion events for the women's game?

Why all this unrelenting discrimination against women's basketball when it was the women's national team that gave the much-needed injection of enthusiasm into the local game?
