The Malta Centre for Restoration is holding a seminar on the Role and Training of the Conservator in Malta at the Malta Centre for Restoration, Bighi, on May 3 to mark its five years of existence.

The centre has been running a Bachelor in Conservation and Restoration Studies (Honours) degree for these five years and has this year launched a Master of Conservation in Applied Conservation Studies.

The seminar will provide an opportunity to examine the courses and their content in the national Maltese context, as well as in the European context.

The various cultural heritage stakeholders will be involved as much as possible in this evaluation process and will discuss the skills that are expected from a conservator in Malta and how training would enable the conservator to gather such skills.

The seminar is free and open to all persons with a particular interest in the subject.

Early registration is recommended, preferably before Wednesday, and is subject to availability of space.
