In response to Ian Refalo's letter regarding the Faculty of Laws' achievements, I would like to apologise for any ambiguity in my letter which may have given rise to misinterpretation or misunderstanding...
I was not calling the Faculty of Laws a disgrace per se, far from it. I am now completing my second year studies and had I any qualms about the value of my course (and faculty), I would certainly not hang around to waste my time. My only complaint regarded the bureaucracy and administration in the faculty.
Yes, ok, it is true that students are supposed to work in their own time and do research but lectures are lectures and more than the fact of not being given the necessary information during a lecture, it is the sheer sense of frustration that a last-minute emergency cancellation of an 8 a.m. lecture brings.
There are those who live very close to the university, I perhaps live a little further away, but what about those from Gozo?
All that is asked for is a little consideration and fairness, a feeling shared not only by fellow law students but also by many other university students.
