Ta' Xbiex Wolverines beat New Ages on Sunday to win the Division Two title with one game to play.
In the only Division One match played, HSBC failed to keep up with their fine start against Fuego Champs as the latter went on to claim a convincing win.
Meanwhile, Sunday's matches are postponed due to another activity at the University Sports Hall.
Competition resumes on Sunday, May 2 with the U-21 league.
Division One
HSBC 19
Fuego Champs 37
HSBC was keeping well in pace with champions Fuego till the end of the second session (4-7, 8-9). With some key players missing, HSBC introduced new faces in their line-up.
Fuego were still unable to score regularly in the first 30 minutes. But, in the remaining quarters, HSBC ran out of steam as Fuego's shooters were finding it easier to add to their tally.
Second Division
Mellieha 12
Kerygma B 38
The first quarter was balanced with Kerygma leading 7-5. However, the remaining minutes of the match were dominated by Kery-gma who increased their lead convincingly.
Mellieha never made good use of their 36 attempts at goal. Better shooting could have made the score more respectable for them.
Ta' Xbiex Wolverines 44
New Ages 16
With this win, Ta' Xbiex are the category champions as they ex-tended their positive streak of wins at the expense of New Ages.
The first-round clash this season had ended 24-13 and it was as-sumed that there would be another final score of the same proportions.
New Ages lost possession due to poor passing as Wolverines were more effective in their play. This resulted in a better shooting rate as clearly indicated by the final score.
