PM-GWU meeting on jobs

The General Workers' Union will be meeting Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi to discuss the union's proposals about the country's employment situation, among other things.

The union said yesterday that following the message by GWU general secretary Tony Zarb during a recent mass manifestation, Dr Gonzi said he was ready to meet with the union.

The union said its proposals had already been sent to the Prime Minister. The meeting will be held on April 27.

The GWU said it will continue with its work as part of the campaign www.bidritt. com and meet constituted bodies including employers' associations, ambassadors and other organisations.
