Events held at Bay Street during Easter Sunday helped to raise Lm101 for the Ursuline Creche, in Sliema.
The funds were mainly raised by selling pieces of Malta's largest figolla to the general public present. Measuring 2.5 metres by three, the figolla was the work of Institute for Tourism Studies lecturers Renato Briffa and Felix Camilleri together with students from the same institute. To help make the figolla Baymart and Smart Supermarket donated the ingredients free of charge.
For each piece of figolla the public gave a donation.
Another event held at Bay Street on Easter Sunday was an Easter Bonnet competition for residents of Dar tal-Providenza.
Residents from this home exhibited their home-made bonnets at Bay Street, where a panel of judges awarded prizes to the winners donated by Eurosport.
