As part of its annual Easter activities, the BMX Association is holding a racing competition this weekend.

The usual racing format will be adopted in Sunday's competition, sponsored by Eleganza Footwear.

Participants will be split into categories according to age.

The top rider in each category will etch his name on the Easter BMX trophy which is kept for a year by the winners.

Registration begins at 1.30 p.m. on Sunday. In a short statement, the BMX Association urged participants to abide by BMX racing regulations which state that no sharp or pointed objects are allowed on the bikes.

Each participant must wear a helmet and other body protection.
