The Royal Navy Rugby Union under-21 team arrived in Malta on Monday for the start of a one-week rugby tour.

Led by Captain T. Harris, the team will play against the Malta National under-23 team today at 5 p.m., and against La Vallette on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Both matches will take place at the Marsa Rugby Ground and are open to the public. Entrance is free.

Sponsored by the International Rugby Board and the England Rugby Football Union, the visiting RNRU group will conduct training and coaching sessions for local schools. The first session for 14-17-year-olds took place yesterday at the Marsa Rugby Ground and the second session for children under-14-years-old will take place tomorrow between noon and 2 p.m.

Forming part of the coaching team are an England Rugby Football Union coach and a Royal Navy Rugby Union referee.

The coaching sessions aim to increase and promote rugby as a school sport within Malta, the British High Commission said.
