The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses has given notice of an industrial dispute at Zammit Clapp Hospital, saying arbitration has not yet started on a clause in the collective agreement it signed in December 2000.

The union said the collective agreement expired over two years ago and negotiations had not started on the new one.

The union said that unless arbitration on the clause, which deals with recognition of service, starts this month, it would resort to industrial action.
