A Russian nuclear weapons expert accused of passing nuclear submarine secrets to the United States and Britain was found guilty of treason yesterday, Russian news agencies reported.

Igor Sutyagin, an arms expert from Moscow's respected USA-Canada Institute, could receive a jail term of up to 20 years from the judge in the Moscow court, who has yet to pass sentence.
