Obituary

BONNICI. On April 4, at St Luke's Hospital, MARIA LOURDES (honorary bandmaster, St Philip Band), of Zebbug, aged 76, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss Joe Tanti and his wife Guza and their children, cousins and friends including the members of St Philip Band Club. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital, tomorrow at 3 p.m. for St Philip parish church, Zebbug, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at the Qalb ta' Gesù Cemetery, Zebbug. The St Philip Band will be in attendance. No flowers by requestion but donation to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CESAREO. On April 3, Joseph, of Balzan, residing in Mtarfa Home, passed peacefully away at the age of 76, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers Edwin, Gwido, Arthur, Sonny and their respective spouses, his sister Maria and Lydia, nephews, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves Mtarfa Home today at 8 a.m. for the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Zabbar cemetery. CUSCHIERI. On April 4, at St Luke's Hospital, PAUL, aged 88, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maria née Buttigieg, his children Lina, Agnes, George and his wife Marcelline, his grandchild Maria Christina, his two sisters Filomena and Grace of Australia, his many nephews and nieces both in Malta and Australia, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital, today at 2.15 p.m. for St George's parish church, Qormi where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m. followed by interment at the Resurrection Cemetery, Qormi. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.

SCERRI. On April 3, at St Vincent de Paul residence, CATHERINE, aged 74, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Raymond and his wife Lydia, Marianne and her husband Chris Muscat, Angele and her husband John Vella and Joseph and his wife Yvette, her grandchildren, her brothers Gaetano and Alfred and their families, her sisters Tessie and Pia and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul today at 1.45 p.m. for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord grant her eternal rest.

Fondly remembered by her sons Noel and his wife Josephine, Robert, Frederick and his wife Catherine, and grandchildren Suzanne, Christine, Diane and Isaac. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

FARRUGIA - SALVINO. In loving memory of a dear and beloved husband, father and grandfather on the third anniversary of his demise. Greatly missed and fondly remembered by his wife Vina, his children John, Victoria, Miriam, Josette and their respective spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchild, relatives and friends.

Surgical Education

The Association of Surgeons of Malta has invited Richard Rainsbury to give a talk at the Tower Suite, Corinthia San Gorg Hotel on April 14 at 7.30 p.m. This will be followed by a buffet dinner.

Mr Rainsbury is a breast surgeon and the Director of Education of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He will talk about major changes in surgical education. All trainers and trainees who are interested are invited to attend.

Easter Launch

Playmobil are introducing new Easter sets. The new Playmobil Bunnies theme will inspire children to recreate animal kingdom adventures where the Bunnies reign supreme.

The Easter bunnies come in many different sets, such as the Easter Bunny Workshop.

The Playmobil Funpark is organising Easter celebrations. Situated in Hal-Far, it is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

NCW Event

The National Council of Women will be holding a half-day recollection at NCW Centre, Mountbatten Street, Blata l-Bajda on Wednesday from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Mgr Lawrence Gatt will animate the event. Mass will be celebrated at noon.

The Passover Meal organised by the NCW is also on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. Those wishing to attend are asked to phone 2124 8881 or 2124 6982.

Meditative Sketches

An exhibition of 23 works by John Martin Borg opens today at the VGB Art Gallery in Valletta, entitled Meditative Sketches.

Although mostly renowned for his maritime pictures and atmospheric landscapes, this exhibition brings together his interpretation of religious art.

The exhibition will be open to the public until April 17.
