Special day: 04.04.04

Did you realise that the date on Sunday will be special? Maltapost has and will be issuing a philatelic bureau card marking the date: 04.04.04.

The card, the fourth in the series carrying a date stamp bearing the same numerals, is being issued on Monday. It was designed by Martin Bonavia of Maltapost.

The card, which will include a 12c stamp from the Queen's Coronation Jubilee issue duly stamped with the date 04.04.04, will be on sale from all Maltapost branches in Malta and Gozo and from the Maltapost Mobile Unit until stocks last.

They are being sold at 29c each.

This card is the fourth in this series, the first one issued on January 1, 2001 having been stamped 01.01.01. The final card in this series will be issued on December 12, 2012 and will carry the date stamp 12.12.12.

This year's card can be sent through the post without any additional postage, provided it is posted by not later than Saturday April 10.
