There has been a recent spate of complaints about late post but I think Maltapost and the British Royal Mail have excelled themselves this time.

I received today a Christmas card from my brother and his wife; I could not read the franking stamp but I have been assured by him that they posted the card in the first week of December 2003 in the Merseyside postal district.

I did have in mid-February a Christmas card from an old friend in Truro, southwest England posted on December 15, 2003, but at the time chose not to say anything. With this latest fiasco I thought I should bring it to readers' attention.

It is a good thing that we have the internet and the old-fashioned fax for other important communications!
