Macedonia's contestant expected today

Tose Proeski

Tose Proeski

Tose Proeski, Macedonia's contestant for the Eurovision Song Contest, will be arriving in Malta today to lobby support for his song before the big day in Istanbul, Turkey, next month.

Tose will be flying in with Malta's own ambassadors, Julie Zahra and Ludwig Galea, who spent the past few days promoting their song, On Again... Off Again, in Macedonia.

One of Macedonia's best vocalists, Tose, 23, is a student at the Skopje Music Academy. He will be representing his country in the semi-finals on May 12 with his song Life is...

The young singer was last year awarded the Mother Teresa humanitarian award and was also appointed a regional Unicef ambassador.

While in Malta he will be appearing on numerous television programmes, including L-Isfida tomorrow night, Ray Calleja's Is-Sibt on Saturday afternoon and Norman Hamilton's Bla Agenda on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, Malta's representatives are busy garnering support for their song and they will be leaving the island again, this time for Lithuania, in a couple of days' time.

The CD of their song, composed by Philip Vella and penned by Gerard James Borg, is being produced in Germany.
