10 years of growth

Hetronic Malta, producers of radio remote control systems, is celebrating 10 years of successful growth in Malta.

The local plant forms part of the Hectronic Group.

The company manufactures over 500 different products and, with the support of the whole group, has set up a purchasing and logistics centre as well as a marketing and sales division that covers marketing, sales, training and technical support for the Mediterranean, excluding Italy, the Middle East and Africa.

"When we began operations in 1994, Hetronic Malta was just a low-cost manufacturing plant. We now form an integral part of the group's worldwide production of 23,000 radio remote control systems per year, which generate nearly US$40 million in sales," said Simon Grima, general manager.

The Hetronic Group was founded in 1982.

Since then it has pioneered a number of remote control devices aimed at making industrial machinery safer and easier to operate. "It is Hetronic's common goal to provide safe, reliable, and affordable radio remote controls to different industries to make machine operation safer and more economical," Max Heckl, founder and CEO of the Hetronic Group, said.

As part of the celebrations, the company recently hosted a reception at the Corinthia San Gorg Hotel in St Julians.
