Microsoft and YMCA have set up the first Microsoft Community Computer Centre at the YMCA internet café in Valletta.

A donation from Microsoft means the centre can now provide upgraded computers and peripherals, Internet access and a selection of operating as well as educational software.

The donation is part of Microsoft's commitment to servicing the local community and supporting the IT industry in the country.

It is also part of Unlimited Potential, a global funding programme from Microsoft, aiming at improving lifelong learning for disadvantaged young people and adults by providing technology skills through technology learning centres.

YMCA will manage and supervise all operations at the centre.
