The police arrested two Qormi teenagers early yesterday after allegedly finding them in possession of 39 ecstasy tablets.

The arrests were made by members of the drugs squad at 4.15 a.m.

The two, aged 16 and 17, were seen acting suspiciously by members of the squad who were off duty at the time. As soon as they were approached, the 17-year-old threw away about 30 ecstasy pills. A further nine were found in one of his pockets.

The two are expected to be arraigned shortly. Investigations are being headed by Inspector Norbert Ciappara.
