Participation and representation are two fundamental values that the National Youth Council embraces and shall strive to achieve throughout the coming months.
Following the approval of the Year Plan, KNZ has therefore kicked off initiatives aiming at bringing more young people and member organisations working as one team. Both on a national and international level, the council is planning various events, particularly a pilot project that shall establish youth sections within a considerable number of local councils. Likewise, other ambitious projects such as the Youth Parliament and the strengthening of our international ties within the European Youth Forum are also in the pipeline.
One cannot leave out the National Youth Council's mission to act as a consultative body in fora such as the MCESD, NCSD and MEUSAC. KNZ is determined to put forward its recommendations for the proposed Education Act and pensions reform, especially on issues concerning young people. Surely this is not enough; the council has set up various committees such as those concerning youth workers, refugees and asylum seekers, as well as an International Committee. It is therefore an exciting but hectic work plan, which shall seek to involve as many contributors as possible.
