Course for trainers

Parliamentary Secretary Dolores Cristina visited 15 female students following a course that will enable them to act as trainers and resource persons assisting Maltese and Gozitan women to establish their own businesses.

The course, Cultivating Women Entrepreneurs: Training the Trainers, is being managed by ANFE, an Italian educational institution, with the close collaboration of WPDC (University of Malta) and the Employment and Training Corporation.

The project, referred to as Progetto Elis, emerged from a twinning between Dingli local council and the Comune di Petrosino (Sicily). It is being funded by the EU regional funds forwarded to Sicily.

The course is being held at Attard parish centre.

The second part of the project entails the setting-up of a resource centre - an incubator for new businesses and a place from where new women entrepreneurs would be able to acquire guidance and follow training programmes.
