Some tourism services!

On March 7, a colleague of mine on business from the US got a taste of our services!

1) A taxi ride from St Julians to Mosta cost Lm10.

2) A bus ride from Mosta to Valletta. The driver said the bus passes through St Julians and on getting to Valletta the driver found it very funny and told my colleague "welcome to Malta!". The driver then told my colleague to walk down Valletta to get to St Julians. This being the wrong direction.

3) On getting to the MCC area my colleague noticed he was in the wrong area and asked a horse cabby for directions. The driver said he should get the ferry to Sliema and tried to sell a 1km horse ride for Lm20! Since my colleague refused the offer the driver refused to offer information on how to get to St Julians!

4) After asking some more people he finally got to the ferry and the attendant tried to sell him a ticket at a higher price.

5) On getting to Sliema and boarding a bus for St Julians the driver was given Lm2 which he gladly took and then said he had no change. On getting to St Julians my colleague asked for his change but the driver refused to give him any, swore at him and carried on arguing.

After more arguments the driver finally offered some change (not the full amount) and at this point my colleague gave up and left the bus.

How is that for a day of swindling and great service! My colleague has already said he will avoid Malta as much as possible and will definitely not be recommending us to his friends as a tourist destination. I don't blame him.
