¤ The feast of St Gregory is being celebrated in Kercem today.
A pontifical concelebrated Mass will be led by Cardinal James Francis Stafford, accompanied by Bishop Nikol Cauchi and the Cathedral Chapter, at 9 a.m. Representatives of the Gharb Collegiate Chapter and the Kercem clergy will also be taking part.
Cardinal Stafford will unveil a commemorative after Mass.
A lunch is being organised at Palazzo Margherita, Sannat, at noon.
Solemn vespers at 4 p.m. will be followed by a panegyric, delivered by Fr Michael Camilleri, OP.
The procession, with the statue of the saint, led by Cardinal Stafford and accompanied by the St Gregory Band, leaves the church at 5.15. A Eucharistic celebration will follow.
¤ An hour-long Way of the Cross is again being held from Ta' Pinu Sanctuary to Ta' Ghammar Hill today at 3.30 p.m.
¤ The play Barabbas is being staged at Xewkija parish centre today at 5.30 p.m.

¤ An outing for the elderly is being organised by St George's parish tomorrow. The group leaves the Victoria Bus Terminus at 8.45 a.m. Further information can be obtained from the parish centre.
¤ The liturgical feast of St Joseph is being celebrated in Qala on Thursday.
Bishop Nikol Cauchi will lead a concelebrated Mass at 6.30 p.m. This will be followed by a ceremony in which awards will be presented in recognition of those who provided service in the parish.
¤ A penititional pilgrimage from Jesus of Nazareth church in Xaghra to Ta' Ghammar Hill is being organised by the Xaghra Eucharisitc communities on Saturday at 4 p.m.
¤ A dinner, in aid of the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady is being held at the Leone Band Club, Victoria, on Thursday at 7.30 p.m. Tickets can be obtained from the band club or Connie Island Bar (tel. 2155-1289).
¤ Majsi fil Honeymoon, a satirical play is being staged by the Aurora Opera House in collaboration with Bronk Productions at the opera house in Victoria, on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. Tickets may be obtained from the Lotto Office next to the Leone Band Club in Victoria or by phoning on 2156-2974 from 6 to 8 p.m.
¤ A high tea is being organised by the Lady's Society at St George's parish centre on Friday at 7 p.m. Tickets can be obtained from the parish centre (tel. 2155-6377).
¤ The Eden Foundation is holding its eighth Easter exhibition to raise funds for its work with the disabled at 104, Republic Street, Victoria, from Friday to April 18. The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 6.45 p.m during the week and from 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. on weekends. Well established artists will be exhibiting around 300 new paintings, sculptures and ceramics, and antique furniture which will be for sale. Entrance is free but donations will be most welcome.
¤ A pilgrimage to Rome is being held to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the blessing of Nadur parish church from May 3 to 9. There will be tours to the Vatican and the basilica of San Paolo Fuore le Mura. For more information phone 2155-1649.
