Two injured in separate falls

An elderly nun and a worker yesterday sustained fractures in two separate accidents, one in Senglea and the other in Birkirkara, the police said.

The police said the 66-year-old nun lost her balance while cleaning a window in Victory Street, Senglea. She was rushed to St Luke's Hospital where she is in a stable condition.

The Cospicua police are investigating.

In the Birkirkara accident, a man from Qawra was injured when he fell off a lifter after the machine developed a fault, the police said. The police said the man fell a height of one-and-a-half storeys.
