Injunction 'ignored'

One Productions Limited "ignored" a warrant of prohibitory injunction issued on the request of the General Workers' Union and a company employee, Mary Cefai, and sacked the worker after a disciplinary board hearing.

The union's lawyer, Aaron Mifsud Bonnici, yesterday filed another note in court saying that while the court had given the company two days within which to reply, One Productions had convened a meeting of the disciplinary board and terminated Ms Cefai's employment.

Dr Mifsud Bonnici said that, effectively, One Productions had continued to do what the union had tried to stop it from doing while the matter was still pending in court and he asked the court to give those directives it deems fit.
