Local councils had a revenue of Lm1.6 million from tickets issued by the police and wardens in connection with contraventions delegated to the councils, Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg said yesterday.

Replying to a parliamentary question by Labour MP Noel Farrugia, Dr Borg said the police only collected payments of traffic conventions paid outside the court, which last year amounted to Lm24,812.
