Hardware exported
Three containers full of 20 tonnes of computers, monitors, photocopiers and other hardware were exported by WasteServ to the Far East between December and January.
A spokesman for WasteServ said the company would continue collecting such waste for export but it was also investigating other markets as well as the recycling of other white goods.

What makes technology so short lived? Wouldn't it be more cost-effective if the University of Malta focused more on researching technology that motivates people into retaining it, rather than throwing it away (e.g. as soon as a new smartphone model is launched to the market).
