Mario C. Mr Grech said that "Middlesea's relationship with Laferla Insurance Agency commenced when an agreement was reached for Laferla Insurance Agency to market and underwrite a tailor-made health insurance product underwritten by Middlesea Insurance.
"This partnership achieved the desired objectives and it was a natural progression that Laferla Insurance Agency be appointed to represent Middlesea Insurance for all classes of general insurance business. Middlesea, Malta's only international insurance company, was committed to the indigenous market which, combined with Laferla Insurance Agency's reputation, augured well for the success of this enhanced relationship".
Mr Laferla said that his insurance agency was established in 1984 when the company used to represent certain underwriters at Lloyd's. Since 1984 Laferla Insurance Agency has built a reputation of excellence in customer service.
The agreement reached with Middlesea Insurance plc was a continuation of Laferla's association with principals of high repute and should ensure that the agency would be in a position to offer a wider range of products though its network of branches offices spread over Malta and Gozo and which are electronically linked to the Valletta office, Mr Laferla said.
