'Financial burden'

The government's intensive programme to open embassies overseas was an added burden on the Maltese coffers, the Labour Party's spokesman for foreign affairs, Leo Brincat said.

He referred to this week's opening of an embassy in Hungary, saying the Hungarians were not planning to reciprocate by opening an embassy here until next year at the earliest.
