Two Fgura men were yesterday charged with stealing over Lm1,000 worth in mobile phones and other items.

Keith Darmanin, 26, and Charlot Mangion, 28, pleaded not guilty to stealing the items to the detriment of Raymond Debono from Sliema on August 14, 2001.

Darmanin was also charged with breaching the conditions of a previous release while Mangion was charged with relapsing.

Inspector Carmelo Bartolo prosecuted.

Dr Franco Debono appeared for Darmanin while Dr Jason Azzopardi appeared for Mangion.
