In the article (February 25) on Joseph Salerno's 13 dogs, ordered to be put to sleep because someone was attacked by a dog, our society was called "unrighteous". May I add that this society is also illogical.

Let us assume for one moment that it was one of these dogs that did the attacking. Surely ways and means could be found to identify this dog.

If one is attacked by a black dog there is absolutely no reason for putting to sleep the brown and the white dogs. Or are Mr Salerno's dogs identical? If these dogs are aggressive, as the sentence would make us believe, why wait for March 3?

Finally, isn't this society of ours bullying this 78-year-old out of his pets, simply because one dog, not necessarily his, attacked a passer- by?

While congratulating the Island Sanctuary for their good work, I suggest that neighbours should keep a watchful eye on their area to avoid further dumping of dogs by irresponsible people who are the real culprits.
