The FOI and the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, through the MBB local office, will be organising, with the kind support of the British High Commission, an information seminar for members entitled "Hazardous Waste: What's the Problem?" aimed at familiarising members with the implications of hazardous waste management and related issues. It will be held on March 9 at 9 a.m.

Ms Jessica Ball, a chartered chemist with extensive practical experience in the management of hazardous waste, will deliver two presentations during this seminar. Her first presentation will focus on hazardous waste management in the UK, while in her second presentation she will analyse the benefits of hazardous waste minimisation.

The seminar will also be addressed by Franck Lauwers, environment protection officer in the Resources Management Unit of MEPA (Waste Management Team), who will focus on permits and by Henrietta Debono from WasteServ Malta Ltd, who will present the operator's perspective.

Booking is free of charge for FOI and Chamber members. Non-members will be charged Lm10.
