Mepa audit officer

The Malta Environment and Planning Authority has appointed Joseph Falzon as audit officer.

According to the Development Planning Act, the audit officer's duty is to review all the functions and workings of Mepa and to investigate - either on his own initiative or following a complaint- the functions and workings of the authority.

Mr Falzon's duty would be to recommend to Mepa any redress that should be taken.

Between 1992 and 1998, Mr Falzon served as deputy chairman of Mepa and chairman of the Development Control Commission.
