On February 10, The Times published a letter in my name with a photograph of some of my old comrades taken in Korea in 1952. I was trying to find Anthony Schembri who was the only soldier from Malta in the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards regiment.

On February 19, I had a telephone call from Anthony who had emigrated to Victoria, in Australia, in 1954. His sister, who still lives in Malta, had spotted the letter in The Times and had sent it to Anthony with the comment: "I think this might interest you". Tony was "over the moon" because it was his first contact with anybody from the regiment for 50 years.

We are now going to add his name to our register of "Old Comrades" and he will soon be receiving lots of letters and phone calls from his old mates in the UK.

I would like to thank The Times for publishing the letter, a big thank you to John Mizzi for putting the letter in The Times and a further big thank you to the officers of the British Legion (Malta) for putting me in touch with Mr Mizzi.
