King Carnival bows out

Carnival came to a grand finale yesterday after a defilè through Valletta, dances in Freedom Square and a parade down St Anne Street, in Floriana.

Floats and costumes have now been put away making way for the 40 days of Lent, a time of abstinence and spiritual discipline.
