During the month of January 2004, no cruise liners entered Maltese ports, the National Statistics Office said yesterday.

In the eight-year span from January 1997 to January 2004, this was also the case in January 1999.

The highest number of cruise passengers recorded in January was in 2002 when 3,658 people arrived.
