Bandmaster and composer Paul Arnaud died yesterday morning aged 93.

Arnaud was bandmaster of Holy Trinity Band Club in Marsa, Stella Maris Band Club in Sliema, and composed music in various genres. Some of his most popular songs have been recorded, among them Cetta from Valletta and Karnival.

He was credited with discovering British singer Frankie Vaughan and introducing Maltese clarinettist Freddie Mizzi to the public.
