New investment was needed to solve environmental problems, such as projects using solar energy and others using the sea such as fish-farming, Lawrence Gonzi, candidate for the Nationalist Party leadership, said yesterday.

Speaking to councillors in the fourth and fifth districts as part of his campaign, he said that other projects had to continue, including City Gate, the Barrakka lift and the Opera House area, within the constraints of government finances.
