Two injured in roof collapse

An elderly man and a woman were slightly injured yesterday after the roof of their house in Sliema caved in, the police said.

The incident happened at about 3 p.m. in Triq San Gjacintu, close to the Imperial Hotel, when the roof collapsed under the weight of a water tank. The following debris caused the floor below to cave in.

The couple, both aged 76, were rushed to St Luke's Hospital.
