Alternattiva Demokratika is calling on the electoral commission to ensure that Maltese living in EU countries are given the opportunity to be included in the electoral register and thus be able to vote in next June's elections for the European parliament.

Legally, Maltese residing in EU countries can either choose to be included in the Maltese electoral register, and thus be able to vote for Maltese candidates for the European parliament, or can choose to register as voters in the EU country in which they are residing, AD explained.

AD general secretary Stephen Cachia offered AD's assistance to these voters.

"We appeal to Maltese living in EU countries to contact the electoral commission to register. AD is inviting Maltese residents living in other European Union countries to contact us so that we can assist them.

"We are also offering our help to foreign EU nationals living in Malta who want to vote in these elections".

The party may be contacted on e-mail cachia@maltanet.net.
