Thief drives off in hold-up victim's car

A 60-year-old man from Cospicua was driving along December 13 Road, Marsa, at about 4.30 p.m. yesterday, when he was stopped by a white van.

According to a police report, a man, apparently armed, got out of the van and forced the 60-year-old out of his car. The thief then got into the car and drove off.

The white van, it later turned out out, had been stolen. The elderly man's car was later found burned in Qormi, the police said.

Duty Magistrate Abigail Lofaro appointed court experts to help her in her inquiry.

Police investigations are being led by the CID and Hamrun district police.
