When Penelope shoots her husband - in Actinghouse Productions' A Slight Accident - she does not wail, get hysterical or jump for joy.

She merely picks up the telephone and calls Camilla. The two women chat as if nothing was amiss, with a dead body lying close by.

Actinghouse Productions have developed a play with a difference: the audience will not only be treated to theatre, but get to watch a soap opera, or rather a parody of a soap opera.

When Camilla's husband, Roger, prepares her cocoa before going to bed only to find his wife is not at home, his world is devastated.

Penelope, Camilla and Roger prance around the room, drinking alcohol and failing to understand each other.

James Saunders' A Slight Accident has played to packed audiences all over the world.

Cornelia Crombholz directs Irene Christ, Clare Agius and Stefan Cachia Zammit in a situation comedy of the highest order. Zvezdan Reljic is in charge of the stage and Jasmina Reljic the costumes.

Premiere night is on Friday at St James Cavalier, in Valletta with performances on Saturday and Sunday and further shows on the following two weekends in February.

Booking may be made on 2122 3200 or by e-mail to boxoffice@sjcav.org.
