No dispute

The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses has retracted its warning of an industrial dispute with the Department for the Elderly after an issue related to nurses working at St Vincent de Paul Residence was resolved.

The union had accused the department of ignoring a request to issue booklets to nurses through which they could apply for vacation leave.

The union said in a statement yesterday that the department had also given its assurance that other pending issues related to the staffing section at the residence would be addressed.
