An 18-year-old man was yesterday charged with breaking into a Marsa factory and stealing a Mazda 626 and two car stereos last Christmas.

Daniel Lanzon, of Cospicua, pleaded not guilty to stealing the car and stereos from Mediterranean Power Electronics, causing damage at the factory and to the car, driving without a licence and relapsing on December 25, 2003.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm2,000 and on condition he does not leave his home without court permission.

Police Inspector Jesmond Borg prosecuted.

Dr Shazoo Ghaznavi and Dr José Herrera appeared for Lanzon.
