The first performance of a new sacred oratorio L-Anglu Kustodju ta' Ghajn Dwieli, marking the 50th anniversary of pastoral work by the Capuchin Friars of Ghajn Dwieli, is taking place tomorrow in St Anthony's church, Ghajn Dwieli at 7.15 p.m.

Sponsored by the Bank of Valletta and commissioned by the Capuchin friars of Ghajn Dwieli, the oratorio was written by Carmel Bianchi.

The friars started operating from the private dwelling of one of their members until the present church was built.

The music was composed by Tony Pace, who is also the musical director, and the Sine Macula choir from Safi are taking part. The leading singers are soprano Joanne Mifsud, mezzo soprano Marie Therese Vassallo, tenor Arthur Camilleri and bass Alfred Camilleri.
