Kavallieri were made to fight hard as Salesians tried everything they could to earn their first points of the season.

Salesians had a very good first half as Stefan Vancell was keeping his side in the game. Had it not been for some technical errors on fast breaks and Kevin Casaru's red card, the difference at half-time would have been much more than a mere two-goal lead for Salesians (7-9).

More was expected from Kavallieri but their reaction was only delayed to the second half.

Chris Galea wreaked havoc with the Salesians' defence, scoring six times and paving the way for Kavallieri's success.

Best player: Chris Galea (Kavallieri).

La Salle Vitality 13

Kavallieri's title aspirations suffered a blow after losing this match against sole leaders La Salle who are still unbeaten.

The match was off to a very good pace as Kavallieri took an early lead but La Salle fought back courageously and turned the tables in their favour to lead 5-4 at half-time.

The second half saw La Salle adding to their advantage. Kavallieri came storming back though but a spell of magic from Nicolette Zarb Cousin kept La Salle in front. She was the team's top scorer with five goals.

Best player: Nicolette Zarb Cousin (La Salle).

Salesians 1
Aloysians V. Croissant 19

Aloysians displayed good team spirit and excellent individual skills to annihilate a rather subdued Salesians who were missing the services of Davida Degiorgio and Justine Tanti.

In the second half, Salesians failed to score even though they were quite unlucky after hitting the posts on some occasions.

This was definitely Aloysians' day as they were also inspired by their young players who played exceptionally well.

Best player: Miriam Dingli (Aloysians).
