A seven-year-old schoolgirl has been admitted to hospital suffering from face injuries following a collision between a car and a mini-bus carrying school children.

The police said the girl was among nine school children on board the mini-bus when it was involved in an accident at about 2 p.m. in St Luke's Street, St Paul's Bay. The police said a 31-year-old women, driving a Fiat Punto, hit the mini-bus, which was being driven by a 35-year-old man from Qormi.

The girl is being kept at hospital for observation.

The police are investigating the case.
