The Malta Netball Association national leagues continued last weekend at the University Sports Hall, Tal-Qroqq. The U-21 league gets underway on Sunday with the first matches from this competition.
Division One
Fuego Champs 38
Kerygma 'A' 15
Champions Fuego Champs beat Kerygma 'A' for their second consecutive win. Notwithstanding Kerygma's efforts to play a fast game, experienced Fuego maintained better ball possession.
However, this experience was still not reflected in their score tally considering the number of missed shots at goal.
Umpires: Rose Abdilla, Jennifer Mangani.
Marsascala 19
All Ages Eurochange 49
At the initial stages of this game, both teams were showing some determined play as All Ages Eurochange were seeking a comfortable lead and Marsascala doing well to keep within reach of a respectable score.
All Ages soon got into full gear though as they steadied their performance and increased their score consistently with co-ordinated attacks and solid defending.
Umpires: Rose Abdilla, Maria Farrugia.
Division Two
Kerygma 'B' 22
New Ages 26
Nothing spectacular, yet a very balanced match which could have gone either way.
New Ages had 73 attempts at goal compared to Kerygma's 44.
The balance prevailed for most of the match but in the end it was New Ages who registered their first two points.
Umpires: Sandra Farrugia, Jennifer Mangani.
