The police last year instituted court proceedings against 14 owners of entertainment spots after people aged under 16 were found on their premises, Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg said in reply to a parliamentary question yesterday. He said that 55 children were found in places of entertainment in St Julians, Marsascala and Birzebbuga. The minister was replying to a parliamentary question by Carmelo Abela (MLP)

The minister also said that the police last year found four people smoking in no-smoking areas. A person was caught selling cigarettes to children.
