US says plane scare apparently false alarm

Federal authorities denied reports yesterday that military aircraft had escorted a US-bound flight from Paris after a woman wearing a jacket with wires was removed from the plane before takeoff.

A senior aviation source and industry officials said the Boeing 767 jetliner, an Air France flight operated by Delta, made an unescorted approach into Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Another US official said the young woman was apparently of Arab descent and was removed from Delta Flight 43 in Paris because she was wearing a jacket with wires and a battery connected to it that apparently was to heat the coat.
