Fourteen proposals have been received for the provision of a scheduled air service between Malta and Gozo.

The contract for the current service, which makes use of Air Malta helicopters, expires at the end of October and the government invited proposals for any form of service.

Of the proposals received by the December 31 deadline, three were for a helicopter service, nine for the use of fixed-winged aircraft, one for a seaplane service and one has yet to identify the mode of air transport.

The proposals came from eight foreign companies and six Maltese companies.
