Innovative, proactive, cultural, young, dynamic were the words used to describe AIESEC by its president, Karl Xuereb. Set up in 1948, AIESEC has been a platform for the development of youth all around the world. Through its international exchange programmes, students are given the opportunity to work in any one of the 85 member countries, gaining what is undoubtedly, a life changing experience.

By just being AIESEC members, students learn how to turn theory into practice. AIESEC can be considered the practical side of one's university life: hands on learning; leadership skills; sales techniques; marketing calls; time management; presentation skills; creative thinking and much, much more; AIESEC is undoubtedly helping students gain the practical skills which they will need in their future places of work.

Yet, AIESEC does not just stop within the Maltese Islands. The average active AIESEC member corresponds with persons from all over the globe regularly. AIESEC conferences enable members to work with their counterparts in other countries, sharing realities, discussing issues and collaborating to move the organisation forward. AIESEC members not only have a powerful network close at hand but are also aware of the diversity and vastness that exists beyond our shores.

AIESEC members conclude their learning process by spending a period working in a foreign country, with foreign people, expanding their horizons and going through invaluable experiences.
